Expect the unexpected..

....just coming up for air... we have had so many wonderful guests, I think I might need to invest in a new iron due to all the laundry. I think one of the most pleasurable things about living in France is the sense of community, created by so many well-attended events. The other week we found ourselves watching a young British Band at our local 'ampitheatre'. Hats off to Carsick, yes, that was the name of the band... they whipped the Navarrenx community into a bobbing frenzy late into the summer's night... we then had to cycle home, I think I may have fallen off my bike, which was of course, due to the large incline in the hill and not the several glasses of wine and inability to work the gears effectively. It amazes me, how enthusiastically, events, large and small are attended and enjoyed. P.S Moray and I never cycle at home,,,, or raft or attend strong men competitions. Read more!

Just two days ago... we found ourselves at a Strong Man/Woman competition at our local wine bar. Link below... it was totally unexpected we were on our way to get Pizza and got distracted by the crowd. Needless to say we swapped Pizza for a glass of Pinot Noir, charcuterie and lots of unabashed cheering and shouting; any excuse!

Link to Strong Man.

Finally, last week, Bertha had her maiden voyage of the season (Apart from when I took a guest rafting the other week). By maiden, I mean Moray and I together. Which is always a challenge as we are both complete experts at all things rafting and neither of us is willing to concede that the other may actually know a thing or two. Well, our total lack of humility and communication had us floating down the river, san Kayak, paddles and dignity. A gentle reminder that the unexpected can just be the joy of getting wet and a minor dent to our ego's!!!!
