Whilst we are experienced Air b n b's.... this was our first foray into B and B in a different country. For a first season, I think we did ok! I learnt that my husband is an incredible host, is amazing under pressure and really can be relied on to get the job done! I learnt that I am very good at ironing and making beds; lots and lots of beds! In all seriousness it did go quite smoothly. We listened to feedback, adjusted our room configuration accordingly; made sure everyone had a hearty breakfast and ensured there was always plenty of wine and beer.
Sadly we no longer take dogs (unless they are very elderly or very, very quiet), as Peapod, our little rescue, struggled a little with our two legged visitors; anything with more than two legs was just a bit too scary. Pumpkin, of course, was everyone's best friend.... and benefitted hugely from visitors willing to entertain him for hours with a ball (seen to the right, learning to swim).
All our visitors were super lovely, appreciated our hard work and enjoyed our quirky house and the even quirkier hosts. Thank you to all for a fantastic first season. Following feedback on Booking.com we are looking to improve our facilities for next season, with a new games/social room (concrete has just gone in!) and.... drum roll.....a new swimming pool (its in the pipeline!). Watch this space! Poor Moray, there really is no rest for the wicked!!!! For those that know Moray, they will know what I am referring to.
